The Evolution of Mobile phones

The first mobile was created by Motorola, it was given approval in 1983 and then , it was called the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X and had a retail price of, £3,995. It offered 30 minutes of talk time and a 8 hour battery life, with a LED display for dialing or calling. It also could only hold a maximum of 30 contacts.

Although mobile phone and graphic technology was still basic, compared to present technology, in 1998 Nokia released the Nokia 5110. It was one on the first every mobile phones that allowed you to play a game on it. It was the very popular game, 'Snake'. Since the release of Snake in 1988, the game has been installed on over 350 million mobile phones. The Nokia 5110 went on to become one of the most popular mobile phones ever created.
In 2002 Nokia introduced the 3510 it was one of the first mobile phones that offered internet service usage to the mass market. The Nokia 3510i, was an enhanced version of the 3510 and was released in later 2002, it was the first mobile phone with a coloured display.
The Nokia 7650 was released on the second quarter of 2002 for around £600. It was the first mobile phone with a built-in camera, compared to recent technology, the camera quality is very poor with only,0.3 Megapixels. The handset also had side form feature, with 4mb of memory.
In 2004 Motorola released one of the slimmest phones of all time. The Motorola V3, was a phone with great features and an excellent sleek finish. The phone had dual, coloured screen with a flip function and a camera with a x4 zoom. By 2004 mobile phones had come from bulky bricks to fashionable accessories.
In 2005, motorala partnered with apple to create the Motorola Rokr E1. This mobile phone integrated with Apple's ITunes it allowed you to download music from ITunes and then upload them to the mobile. This mobile phone acted as the pioneer for music on mobile phones. The handset could also hold micro SD cards for extra memory.
In 2007, Apple launched the first IPhone. It was the first first advanced touch screen smartphone. It came with a memory of either 8 or 16 GB and it allowed you to easily download apps and music using the internet on the go. It was really the first phone that could be used instead of a computer.With a 3.5 inch touch screen the graphics were better than any previous mobile phone. This phone pioneered the generation of touch screen mobile phones.
Since this mobile phone almost every phone company turned to touch screen technology and since then the technology has improved massively. The latest IPhone, the 5S is considered to be one of the best phones ever made, with its fingerprint recognition lock screen and its fasted system ever the I0S7 and also its stylish, fashionable colour.

Before printers as we know them came the printing press in January 1439. It was invented by a German goldsmith called Johann Gutenberg. It is considered the most important and revolutionary invention in the history of the printing industry. When it was created and put into use it significantly increased the speed in which books were printed but compared to today's printing technology it was still extremely slow. The machines were manually operated, and even the ink had to applied to the text-blocks manually. 
This printing press was the first of many models that spanned from 1439 to the last printing press in 1814. In 1847 the Steam Printing Press was invented, as the name suggests it was powered by steam and it was the first ever automatic printing press. It was still quite a primitive invention compared to today's standards but this creation greatly increased the efficiency that newspapers and books were printed.
In 1847 came the last of the Printing Presses, it came in the form of the Rotary Printing Press. It was invented by Richard March Hoe. Impressions were curved around a cylinder so that printing could be continuously printed on paper, cardboard, plastic or other materials. As it was continuous this made the printing of books and newspapers were much quicker.
In 1983 Chester Carlson invented a dry printing process call electrophotgraphy, known today as Xerox. The process involved a directed beam of ions onto a rotary drum, which created an electrostatic charge that powdered ink would stick to. This invention was the foundation of modern laser printing. In early 1953 came the first high speed printer. It was bases on Chester Carlson's dry printing process(Xerox).
In 1984 came the HP Laser Jet, it was the first desktop laser printer, I was priced at about $3,500. HP LaserJet printers used xerox electro-photographic laser-marking engines sourced from the Japanese company Canon.
In 1988 came the HP DeskJet, it was the first mass-market inkjet printer. The DeskJet allowed you to continuously print on plain paper. The Deskjet also gave a higher print quality than any of its predecessors and it was also priced lower than the Laserjet, at about $1,000.
In 1983 came the first ever 3D printer, invented buy Chuck Hull, up until recently they have been far to expensive for people take real notice but as the prices of these printers have dropped the 3D printers they are becoming more commonly used and recognised. The printer creates a scale 3D model of whatever it is sent from a specialised plastic. These printers are recently been used to create guns and are useful to see what the object you are trying to create will look like..jpg)

ReplyDeleteWell done on creating your first blog, it looks great. I particularly like your use of images to separate out the text. You may wish to consider changing the colour of the font you have used as it appears to be a shade of grey and could be difficult for some people to read.
You have provided some useful information about 3D printers, however you could add to this e.g. how they are now so graphically advanced that they can print representations of human skin such as ears.

These photos are useful as I can also be aware how the printers presentation have been changed as well as the features. I now have a great understanding of how mobile phones and printers have changed after reading your blog.
However, agreeing with the above comment I have also noticed you have used a light shade of grey which could cause people to struggles reading your blog. I also think you could expand your blog and go into more depth of what the mobile phones contained and what printers are capable of doing now. Other than those comments you have produced a very good stong blog.
